Absolutely tragic. Loved Andy's shows and exuberance since I first heard him in the eighties. Introduced me to so much fantastic music. Eternally grateful. RIP Andy. The trumpetlex's Podcast 18 days ago
Really sad news. Andy was a great influence on my musical life, and I have been listening to him for years. I'll miss his chat and enthusiasm, Was very glad to support his podcast throughout his troubles. The world is a bit more grey now he has gone. Sympathies to Sonny and Dolly. The tonywalkergeo's Podcast 20 days ago
So sad to hear the news, Andy was one of my heroes. In my opinion, the best music broadcaster and travel journalist ever. I will miss him.I have these 37 programmes and between 100 and 200 cassettes of his BBC radio programmes from 1992 to the early 2000s. I will be replaying them and wishing my Saturday or Sunday nights ended listening to Andy.

Andy's not been well and has been receiving treatment for cancer of the spine. He has lost the use of his legs and currently can assess his LPs and CDs up stairs.I had an email at the end of last October 25. I tried to copy and paste it here but it was too long.
Have continued to back him and am wishing his all the best.
Simon.

Glad to become a patron; it's been too long, I know. I've been listening since the mid eighties, recording a C90 tape every Radio 1 show to keep me occupied whilst studying architecture. Thanks, Andy for giving me so much interesting music. The attonchrisf's Podcast 5 months ago
I too am very concerned. I assume that all is not well. If so, I do wish Andy all the very best.Peter: are you able to update us all?
With thanks,

Hello Andy and Peter,I haven't received a podcast since June. Has something gone amiss with my connection ? Please let me know and we'll see if we can re-establish it. If there have been no recent podcasts, for whatever reason, I hope you have not been side lined by anything too serious.
Whatever the situation, I wish you both a Merry Christmas if you celebrate it, and All the Best for 2026 !
Cheers,
Eammon Andrews, Wingfield, Suffolk
