Termination for Medical Reasons has for far to long been left in the shadows of the conversations surrounding baby loss. This deeply isolating form of baby loss leaves people feeling overwhelmed and struggling to make sense of their loss.
Guilt, shame, fear, anxiety, anger are just some of the very strong emotions people feel after having to make this 'no choice, choice'. It's a subject shrouded in silence and so we are aiming to break this silence and chine a light in the shadows.
It's so important to know you are not alone in this. TFMR is far more common than most realise, but until you've been faced with it, most don't even consider it a possibility for them.
We produce a bi-weekly podcast, aiming to inform and educate, as well as give support to those who are either facing a TFMR or who have under gone one. Whether very fresh in this journey, or several years down the road, there is something for everyone.
Every episode has a guest with either the lived experience, or is a professional working with TFMR parents in some way.
Subjects cover how TFMR intersects with all aspects of our lives: Infertility, Relationships, Mental Health, etc; and/or different aspects of TFMR: Surgical, Medical, Maternal Health, etc.
By pledging your support you are helping to ensure that we can continue to produce a high-quality, taboo-busting, supportive and educational podcast.
Running costs
We have overheads to keep the podcast running, like podcast hosting and equipment to record with.
Your pledge can help us pay for our hosting costs and any special recording software and/or equipment we use to ensure our episodes are as of high-quality as possible.
Episode production
It costs us approximately £500 (UK pounds) to produce each podcast episode. Two episodes a month means it costs us £1000/month. Up until now, we have been volunteering our time in order to produce the high-quality episodes you hear being piped through your headphones.
These costs are for the time it takes to research and set up an episode for recording and then the editing of it afterwards. We believe in volunteering our time to the actual recording of our episodes, as our guests are also volunteering their time to speak with us.
Having the funds means we can make sure we can continue to produce this much needed podcast, by not needing to put other paying work ahead of it - as we still gotta eat!
