Zero Waste Box

$100 or more per month • 0 patrons

$100 is enough to pay for one Terracycle Zero Waste Box. A Zero Waste Box provides solutions for difficult-to-recycle waste that cannot be recycled through one of Terracycle's free programs or through regular municipal recycling. For example, a box could be placed at a pet store to recycle pet food bags, or in an office to recycle things like K-Cups in the breakroom. Feel free to browse https://www.terracycle.com/en-CA/zero_waste_boxes and let me know if there is a specific box you would like me to set up. You can also be recognized on the podcast as someone who is dedicated to waste reduction, if you desire!

Less waste, less consumption, less impact, less clutter and less stress!

Pledges go toward supporting Waste Free Edmonton with local efforts.

Waste Free Edmonton is a grassroots, non-profit organization working to significantly reduce the amount of waste created in Edmonton by stopping it at the source. That means producing and consuming less at the front-end, and reusing and repurposing items wherever possible.

If you become a patron to Becoming Less, you’ll immediately get access to as many as 0 patron-only posts.

A Zero Waste Box each month!

$100 per month

I would like to get Zero Waste Boxes into as many places as possible to prevent normally unrecyclable waste from going to landfill. Such as:

Pet stores for pet food bags

Offices for K-cups, pens, etc.

Health facilities for single use gloves and masks

Schools for snack packaging, markers, pens, etc.

Quilting/Sewing stores for fabric waste

Clothing stores for textile waste

Waste Free Edmonton - Waste Free 101

$300 per month

Support our trained volunteers travel to division II and III classes in Edmonton and surrounding areas. Through our engaging presentation and hands-on activities, students learn about the impact of plastic waste… and how to make less of it!

Waste Free Edmonton - Single-Use Plastics Bylaw

$500 per month

We are calling on City Council to take serious action to reduce the amount of single-use plastics in Edmonton. More specifically, we are requesting that City Council implement a comprehensive single-use plastics strategy that includes a bylaw banning or putting a surcharge on plastic bags, straws, coffee cups, utensils, and take-out containers.
