The History

Broadcasting since 2005, Scouting Radio is the premier Internet Radio and Podcasting content provider for the Scout Movement. It was created for the purpose of bringing high quality content to Scouts and Scouters around the world. Scouting Radio has become “The award winning, listener supported internet radio station for the Scout Movement.”

Station Endorsements

Scouting Radio is proud to be endorsed by the Honourable Michael Baden-Powell. Grandson of the Founder of Scouts. We thank him for his continued support to our station.

Funded by Listeners & Underwriters

It is the generosity of you, our listeners and supporters that enables Scouting Radio to stay on air – Thank You!

As Scouting Radio is ran solely by volunteers we require funding from listeners and underwriters to maintain the quality and continue the coverage. If you find value in what we have produced in the past and would like us to continue we would ask for a small amount of support of our efforts. This support keeps us covering events, producing live reports, on demand podcasts and blogs, and allows us to create some great new content and keep us streaming 24 hours a day.

For listeners who donate once off or regularly we offer a range of rewards for donations. These are books from well-known Scout authors.

Underwriters to Our Station

We have separated the support efforts into individual and corporate. For the corporate underwriters there are premiums and acknowledgement based towards a business. For the individual supporter we have created a Tip Jar . This allows an individual to make a contribution easily. There are multiple payment options including selecting recurring payments.

What this means for a company is acknowledgment of  underwriting at the beginning of shows on a rotational basis, an Underwriting Page on the Scouting Radio website, a space in the rotational underwriter ad space on the site.

For more information on how to become an underwriter please contact our team.

Our Programming & Promise

We think Scouting Radio has a great independent voice and want to maintain that independence. With your help we can.

With an audience of almost 65,000 readers, listeners, and viewers on a monthly basis we have become a trusted source of Scouting news and information; truly a network for the movement. We have demonstrated a level of professionalism with our broadcasts and insights with our guests and hosts. Our coverage of camps, award ceremonies and Jamborees is unique in that we have real, working, volunteer professionals asking the questions our listeners would want to know.

Scouting Radio's programming is entertaining and inspirational with talk shows about Scouting and Guiding from around the World. Whether it be a National, European or World Jamboree, a Cub Scout Arrow of Light ceremony in the USA, a Pinewood Derby, a pioneering competition, a local hike, a district camp or a Rover Moot. From water activities, land activities and air activities involving the Scout Movement, Scouting Radio will be covering the event with our team of reporters from around the globe.

Scouting Radio plays the best of inspirational music, whether it be songs for campfires or up and coming bands who were or are involved with the Movement plus a selection of positive mainstream hits.
