Hi There! My name is Chris Stanmore-Major and I started this podcast primarily to share my passion about sailing whether it be racing, cruising, voyaging, traditional vessels or the most up to date race boats.
Over 25 years as a pro sailor I have sailed 320,000Nm which is further than the distance to moon (I'm technically on my way back!!) and raced twice around the world - including a solo circumnavigation.
Alongside my great love for sailing is a career's worth of experience, stories, adventures and lessons that I endeavour to relate to the rag tag band of international listeners I have already recruited.
Pledging to support this podcast allows me to step away from my normal work a little and create the space & time to plan, record, edit and publish the podcast without feeling that it is something I can only do in the short term- I really hope this podcast can continue to grow and hopefully get more people excited and energized to get out on the water and enjoy this incredible sport and lifestyle.

The boat I took around the world solo was called 'Spartan' and her bow number was 300! Getting to this milestone would be amazing as it would indicate to me that there is a real interest in this kind of podcast. Hmm... what can I do to show my appreciation? Well, keep on sailing! Certainly this extra input would allow me to upgrade my lapel mike so I can produce podcasts right there on the deck when things are happening... I think that would be pretty cool right? :)
