Helping Youth Workers to Keep Going!

Wouldn't it be great if youth pastors and youth workers stayed in youth ministry longer, multiplying their impact and creating healthier youth ministries at churches everywhere? That's what we want to see happen.

The Youth Ministry Sherpas are two guys named Steve Anderson and Mathew McCabe. We are both youth pastors in Maryland. We serve at neighboring churches and have been friends for over a dozen years. Between us, we have over 50 years of youth ministry experience, including 18 (Steve) and 12 (Mathew) at our current churches. That means we have, 1) made a lot of mistakes, 2) are seeing some cool things happen in our "old age," and 3) have a lot of stories to share. We love what we do, and we love to see God work in the lives of teenagers.  We also know that youth ministry can be really discouraging and difficult. It's easy to give up and quit. But the rewards for hanging in there and making it our life's work are tremendous.

Our dream for the YOUTH MINISTRY SHERPAS Podcast is to encourage other youth pastors and youth workers to stay in the game for the long haul. We are excited to be able to share some wisdom, conversation, humor and community with others. We are funding this endeavor out of our own (somewhat light) wallets (we are youth pastors, after all, and we both have kids in college), so any help we can receive is a huge blessing to us. Thanks!
